O que impressiona mais na Ferrari é a sua mística, a sua história, a figura do fundador Enzo Ferrari. Tudo isto torna a Ferrari numa marca única e apaixonante. Mesmo alguns modelos que não devem muito à beleza depsertam interesse porque são Ferrari! Eu também gosto muito da Porsche, mas a história da Ferrari arrepia-me.

O F40 LM teve 3 versões: dos 520 cv, 720 cv, 760 cv (evoluídos para 800 cv).
A Ferrari levou-o a Nardo para testar a estabilidade quando sujeito a altas velocidades durante períodos longos e atingiu 390,... km/h não oficiais. As versão Step 3 (800cv, caixa sequencial) fazia os 0-100km/h em 2.5s e abatia os 0-1000m em 18s! |

O F40 LM (1989) de Uderzo leiloado (+545.000 euros) em Gstaad:
The F40LM seen here, is far more exclusive than even a normal F40: it is one of the genuine, ultra rare Le Mans (LM) versions originally built for Ferrari most favoured clients. [u]Developed for competition by Michelotto</u> of Padova on behalf of the factory, the LM sported a reinforced chassis, even more aggressive bodywork including a deeper front air dam and larger, cockpit adjustable rear wing, a racing interior, stiffer suspension, up-rated brakes, competition gearbox, wider wheels and a [u]specially prepared engine producing between 850-900bhp</u>. Not to be confused with the standard road-going F40, or cars up-rated subsequently on behalf of their owners, just 17 factory F40 LMs were originally built and they are today highly coveted.                |

Held for the eighth consecutive year this past weekend, Bonham's "The Ferrari Sale" is the traditional automotive finale of the year. The Ferrari-exclusive auction offers enthusiasts with a varied budget to buy something in time for the holidays. Covered in a fresh layer of snow, the Palace Hotel located in the heart of the Swiss Alps saw unprecedented fierce bidding for both the Automobilia and Car lots available. Racking up nearly CHF 8,000,000, it was one of the most successful Gstaad auctions of recent years. The sale was highlighted by a 250 GT Tour de France, Ferrari F40 LM and a 400 SuperAmerica Aerodynamico. Remarkably all of these high profile vehicles had found a new owner when the last lot was sold.
Ferrari F40 LM Although Ferrari's F40 is one of the marque's most famous models of recent years, the competition versions are seldom seen or heard about. Prepared by Michelotto, the F40 LM had a career of nearly ten years. One of the reasons for it's scarcity is that most of the nineteen examples produced were purchased new by collectors who rarely show them in public. The featured car is an example of these original beauties, and surfaced briefly this past weekend for Bonham's annual "The Ferrari Sale" where it changed hands for just over $650,000. Os F40 LM oficiais possuem a terceira entrada de ar lateral na zona da saia lateral como este:  E depois há os F40 que foram alterados para se parecerem com os F40LM,que têm essa entrada de ar lateral adicionalmais atrás.
