É curioso constatar que o Araújo com um WRC (mesmo quando este está a 100%), tal como outros pilotos a correr com WRC's, não conseguem ser mais rápidos que o Ogier com um S2000.

Classificação geral provisória após SS5



O Solberg aparece, pois julgo que será uma estimativa, tal como aconteceu no Rally de Portugal. Não percebo o porquê de o Neuville não aparecer, talvez por ainda não se souber em que condições está o carro e se poderá continuar com o Rally 2.


Há um gajo que está a andar muito bem, que é o Andreas Mikkelsen, que com um Skoda S2000 está à frente do Ogier

Andreas and Ola drove 16 sec faster through stage 4 than in the first loop.

It was a good fight with Ogier and Andreas was the quickest of them. Ogier suffered time at the end of the stage and lost many seconds. The gap between the Volkswagen S2000-drivers is now 45,1 sec. Andreas and Ola is laying 6th in the overall standing behind WRC-driver an norwegian Mads Østberg.

After having quite a gap to Ogier,

Andreas and Ola lost 25,6 sec too the fellow teamdriver caused of a broken right, front damper. ” I had to take it careful in the stage” he said to the rallyradio at the stage-end. He is still in front but just 0,3 sec to Prokop now, who passed Ogier on stage 5. It`s still a good battle before the guys are heading back to service.

Sébastien Loeb já comanda o Rali da Argentina

O azar voltou a bater à porta de Petter Solberg e quem beneficiou foi Sébastien Loeb. O piloto norueguês da Ford havia entrado para o Parque de Assistência com mais de 20 segundos de vantagem para Mikko Hirvonen, mas um problema mecânico levou Solberg a desistir por hoje. Por seu turno, Loeb, que de manhã havia perdido tempo com dois piões, triunfou nas duas classificativas da tarde e ascendeu à liderança por troca com o seu companheiro de equipa, Hirvonen.



Solberg viu o braço da direção do seu Ford ceder na quarta classificativa, com 37,51 quilómetros, acabando por ver as suas hipóteses de lutar pelo triunfo esfumarem-se, pela segunda vez consecutiva depois de ter abandonado igualmente em Portugal quando liderava.

Em sentido oposto, Loeb recuperou tempo na parte da tarde e, ao vencer as duas especiais da segunda secção, passou Dani Sordo primeiro e, depois, subiu ao primeiro posto por troca com Hirvonen, que herdara o comando de Solberg, dispondo agora de 1,1 segundos de vantagem sobre o seu companheiro de equipa.

Não muito longe está Dani Sordo, que é agora o único representante da equipa oficial da Ford nos primeiros lugares, encontrando-se a 13,1 segundos de Loeb, ao passo que Mads Ostberg, também em Ford, está na quarta posição, mas já a 56,3 segundos. O vencedor do Rali de Portugal acabou por subir a essa posição depois de ter visto Thierry Neuville capotar o seu Citroën na quinta especial, também ele ficando fora de prova.

Nasser Al-Attiyah, com queixas no pescoço, é já o quinto melhor, mas este já está a quase cinco minutos, estando pouco à frente de Andreas Mikkelsen, a fazer uma grande prova com o Skoda inscrito pela Volkswagen. Martin Prokop é o sétimo, na frente de Sébastien Ogier, no segundo Skoda 'alemão'.

Armindo Araújo alcançou um 11º e um 10º tempos nas especiais da tarde e mantém-se dentro do top 10, com o piloto luso a preferir uma abordagem não muito agressiva neste primeiro dia.

Mikko Hirvonen reduz vantagem de Loeb para apenas 0,1 segundos

Mikko Hirvonen respondeu ao ataque de Sébastien Loeb e venceu a derradeira especial deste primeiro dia do Rali da Argentina, colocando a diferença entre os dois primeiros em apenas 0,1 segundos com vantagem para o francês.



Na mais curta das classificativas de hoje, com pouco mais de 19 quilómetros, Hirvonen ganhou um segundo certo a Loeb e com isso colocou a diferença em apenas 0,1 segundos.

"O início da especial não foi muito bom, mas o final foi bom, pelo que vamos ver o que vai acontecer", referiu Hirvonen no final, ao passo que Loeb confessou algumas dificuldades de visibilidade, tendo perdido alguma da confiança.

Na terceira posição ficou Dani Sordo, mas já a 21 segundos do tempo de Hirvonen, tendo optado pelos pneus mais duros numa especial em que os pneus macios seriam mais aconselháveis. Com isso, perdeu mais tempo para a dupla da Citroën e está agora a 33,1 segundos da frente na Geral: "não tínhamos mais pneus macios, demos o máximo mas não correu bem", referiu o espanhol.

Nasser Al-Attiyah fez o quarto melhor tempo, logo na frente de Mads Ostberg e de Martin Prokop, enquanto Armindo Araújo fez o nono tempo, a 57,3 segundos de Hirvonen.

WRC - RALLY ARGENTINA 20120 DIA 1

O Philips Rally Argentina está mais uma vez na estrada, no qual, acompanha a caravana do mundial desde o inicio dos anos 80. A chuva e a lama presentes no primeiro dia a sério do rally, já provocou estragos a alguns pilotos que ocupavam posições de destaque.

O norueguês Petter Solberg começou por liderar o evento argentino, ao vencer a super especial na quinta-feira e o terceiro troço, com uma vantagem de 20s para Hirvonen. No entanto, Solberg partiu um braço de direção do Ford, foi obrigado a parar e ver o finlandês passar para o comando do rally.


No quinto troço, Sébastien Loeb vence (o segundo do dia) e passa a ser o novo líder com 01,1s de vantagem para Hirvonen, após recuperar o tempo perdido no segundo troço do dia, onde efetuou três piões.
Hirvonen respondeu no derradeiro troço ao recuperar 1 segundo ao francês, estando os dois pilotos da Citroën, separados pela margem mínima.


Com a pouca sorte de Solberg que regressa em super-rally na 11ª posição, o piloto emprestado pela Prodrive à Ford, acabou por ser o melhor representante da equipa de Malcolm Wilson.
Sem conhecer o carro, Dani Sordo acompanhou o seu colega de equipa regularmente na terceira posição mas, viria a perder 20s no último troço do dia quando utilizou pneus duros, terminando a etapa a 33s dos dois Citroën.


Mads Ostberg começava a perder terreno para Thierry Neuville mas, o belga viria a capotar o DS3 no penúltimo troço do dia, deixando o norueguês na quarta posição a 1m18s de Loeb.
Nasser Al-Attiyah perdeu alguns minutos com algumas situações, mas beneficiou de alguns abandonos e conseguiu terminar a etapa na quinta posição.
Com as cores da D-MACK, Martin Prokop ocupa a sexta posição, tendo os dois Skoda da equipa VW logo atrás, com vantagem para Andreas Mikkelsen que leva pouco mais de 20s de vantagem para Sébastier Ogier.


Armindo Araújo queixou-se de alguns problemas no motor do Mini, estando já a mais de 1 minuto dos Skoda S2000 e terá Neuville e Solberg logo atrás do piloto português no dia seguinte.


Nicolas Fuchs lidera o PWRC com apenas 6 segundos de vantagem para o polaco Michal Kosciuszko, ambos em Mitsubishi Evo X.

Está agora em 2º na geral, a 2,4s do líder e colega de equipa, Sebastien Loeb.

What a thrill the two first stages has been.

Andreas and Ola went out with a 17,6 sec lead in front of teammate Ogier. But Ogier has been the fastest man of those two so far. After SS8 the gap is now 11,8 sec. Ogier has experience from this rally earlier and fought for overall win last year. “We went cautious out there because this is the first time, and I am not 100% confident on the pacenotes, but the 2nd loop is gonna be quicker” Andreas said after the stage. They have 2 soft used tires as sparewheel. It`s looks like it gonna be wet, so hopefully the tirechoice is right.

What a fast stage! “It`s a new stage for us, but very nice and fast stage” Andreas said after being 0,1 sec faster than Ogier after ca 40 km flat out stage.



Now the cars are heading back for a service and then they will drive the same stages again. Andreas and Ola will go out with new tires in the car and will try to extend the gap to teammate Ogier.

Armindo no Service Park (hora do almoço): "Esta manhã correu mais ou menos, na SS8, perdemos um pouco de tempo no final da especial, quando apanhei a poeira do carro da frente, na SS9 tivemos que ultrapassar o mesmo piloto que tinha tido um furo, o nosso único problema esta manhã foi quando tivemos um furo na parte traseira esquerda a cerca de 20km do final da especial, devido a danos na parede lateral do pneu, e o mesmo ficou destruído. Todas as etapas aqui são um grande desafio. Todas com estilos diferentes, mas são bastante interessantes. estamos muito contentes de ter completado um outra especial com segurança e estamos ansiosos para esta tarde. "

World Rally Championship - News - SS11: Solberg continues to fly

Petter Solberg has claimed his second stage win in succession on Philips Rally Argentina with the fastest time through the repeat of the Amboy-Santa Monica test in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC.

Solberg is battling back from the time lost when he retired on stage four of the event on Friday afternoon. He has climbed to 10th overall and said: “I’ve really found the right feeling with this car, I can do anything with this car.”

Out front, Sebastien Loeb continues to edge clear in his pursuit of a 70th victory in the FIA World Rally Championship powered by Nokia. Loeb was second quickest, 2.9s down on Solberg, and leads Citroen team-mate Mikko Hirvonen by 7.7s in the overall classification with two stages of day two left to run.

“It’s a beautiful stage and there was no reason to push any harder,” explained Loeb.

Hirvonen said: “I wasn’t expecting the stage to be so rough second time through so you need to be careful with the rocks but it was still a good stage.”

Dani Sordo reached the stage finish with the front-left tyre off its rim. The stand-in Ford driver was fourth quickest behind Hirvonen.

Mads Ostberg said he was concentrating on improving his pace notes for next season on his way to the fifth fastest time for the Adapta World Rally Team. M-Sport Fiesta driver Ott Tanak was sixth quickest with Thierry Neuville next up in his Citroen.

Martin Prokop reported no problems in his Autotek Fiesta on his way to the 10th fastest time behind Evgeny Novikov and Volkswagen Motorsport’s Sebastien Ogier.

Behind Andreas Mikkelsen, who was 11th fastest, Armindo Araujo was 12th quickest for WRC Team MINI Portugal with Daniel Oliveira 13th for the Brazil World Rally Team.
